Paul Mescal, an up and coming Irish actor, is set to make his TV debut in the adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People, alongside Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Having trained at The Lir Academy, part of Trinity College Dublin where much of the book is set, he made a name for himself in the Irish theatre scene by landing the role of Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby before graduating. He also starred as The Prince in a retelling of Hans Christian Anderson’s The Red Shoes, and featured in Asking for It at The Abbey Theatre in 2018.
